The Town of Oyster Bay’s Veteran population approaches one veteran in every three households, with Vietnam veterans comprising almost a quarter of this veteran population – similar community demographics are common, with the national average one veteran in every four households.

Exposure to Agent Orange and other dioxin based chemical defoliants used in Vietnam continues to do damage to this day. But a far more insidious fact is that so many of our communities’ residents who were exposed and are themselves potential victims are just not aware of this.
